Chloe Joquel Freeland started the PeaceClinic Institute in 2001 after the string of high school shootings in Colorado and California. A former encyclopedia editor and technical writer, Chloe researches social issues, sustainable economics, and conflict resolution. Her activities and programs for the PeaceClinic are designed to bring people together to learn about peace, freedom and justice.  In 2004 she partnered with engineer/philosopher, Prof. Fani Bhusan Das, author of Peace Technology and  the Founder of The World Peace Technology Center, Orissa, India. In 2005 she founded the PeaceClinic Institute's Peace Practitioner Workshop and Certificate Program.

Susan Moore accepted her volunteer position as Director of the PCI Eastern Regional Chapter in 2004.  Since then Susan has been a champion of several other good causes like the fundraising campaign for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has shown exceptional leadership  and continues to offer help to anyone who visits our PCI site seeking inspiration for a peaceful life.  In 2005 she brought her teen grand daughter Lauren into the PeaceClinic's first workshop for peace teachers.

Beverley Madigan

Beverley Madigan is currently a secondary school administrator for a provincial school board in Ontario, Canada. Beverley is a long standing advocate for at-risk youth, life-long learning and peace education. She has been published by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation on teacher effectiveness and at-risk youth. She has served on the Library Board for the Town of Newmarket and worked on the implementation of community-based literacy programs.

Beverley has served as a facilitator for the Ontario Principals’ Council for their Bullying Prevention Programs. She was a Regional Coordinator for Peaceful Schools International and works as a resource for many schools as they work on sustaining a culture of civility, respect and peace using restorative practices in their school communities. Beverley is  Canadian Director of a school community conflict transformation program called HIPP - Help Increase The Peace and Director of the Canadian Chapter – The PeaceClinic Institute.

 

She is a contributing member of the HOPE Foundation – Harnessing Optimism and Hope through Education where Desmund Tutu is the Honourary Chair. She believes that every person can make a difference through their uniqueness, leadership abilities and peace building capacities.

Rai's contributions of valuable anti-domestic violence content for the PCI site is greatly appreciated.  Mother to a pre-teen aged daughter, Rai has a particular interest in religious freedom and tolerance in public school systems. She is concerned about school bullies and works to make parents accountable for their kids who practice bullying in school.

Kerry Klisch was the first PCI chapter director for the Midwestern region. She joined in as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and has served since 2003. Kerry has written articles on dv and educated people about our dream of teaching peace at every level of human experience.

Wendy Trakes, an anthropology student, has served the PCI as a volunteer chapter director since 2004.  Wendy studied International Relations and Conflict Resolution and has completed peace studies programs in Latin America.  A working mom to a young daughter, she recently moved to Phoenix, Arizona. We look forward to her commentaries and reports on peace workers around the globe. 
 
Wendy and her parents are also peace workers via the Yonose Foundation that applies basic existing technologies to the solution of problems faced by geographically isolated and/or technologically challenged communities. This is a wonderful model for sustainable economic and ecological projects. We are honored to have the Yonose Foundation listed on the PCI's Partners and Friends page.
