***** Five Stars!
"As adventure stories go this one is a hair raiser.
The Mirror Maze is a powerful anti-drug message as well as one about prison torture. This is not a trip anyone would want
to endure. The story is a compelling read, invoking fear and anxiety, and shook me up. It says much about Tom Brungar's strength
of character. I wondered why he tried to smuggle drugs all the way from Peru through Mexico to the United States. The money
was attractive but the whole idea of that venture must have gone against everything he believed in, all his education in Norway.
So this was a terrible learning experience for him.
You should buy this book as it might change your mind about Mexican
socio-political issues. The country where I had thought I might travel to for some cheaper dental work is now a frightening
place with so many drug lords, mass murders especially in places near the U.S. border. Pass this book out to high school students
and see if you find a change in attitudes about using and transporting illegal drugs. They may begin to value U.S. citizenship
a bit more.
Tom's angel, Adriana helped him with contacts at the Norwegian embassy. This collaboration by Tom, Lisa
Nicole Walker, and Vivi is lovingly disclosed and is an excellent adventure story with a lot of love behind it."

Another Review by the PeaceClinic Institute:
The Mirror Maze
offers a look at what can happen to civilian who gets shut away in foreign jails with no appeals. The PeaceClinic recommends
this very well written book to our Peace Practitioner Workshop participants because it is a true story of courage and survival
through dramatic pain and suffering. Tom Brungar, co-author and the man who lived through this maze that lead to his release
via help from his appointed psychologist. Tom and Lisa are also related through her mother's family.
This is a fascinating story that I read
in one sitting as it was that good! -Chloe Joquel
